In early 2001 Probe Industries began with a clean sheet of paper to design a unique manufacturing process that allowed machining an extremely high quality Forged Piston at minimal expense.
Many people have asked us, "How have you reduced the cost of Forged Pistons while improving quality and consistency?"
The answer lies in the following fundamental areas:
1. INVESTMENT IN TECHNOLOGY
Probe Industries is committed to the manufacturing of product that is of the highest possible quality. The first step in that direction was the investment of millions of dollars in the latest CNC machines and tools that allow for multiple operations in the same machine thus minimizing set-ups and personnel.
While several piston manufacturers have invested in the latest machine centers for making pistons, only Probe uses these high end multi-process machines for mass production. The result is a high quality piston at a minimum cost.
We utilize the latest in computer aided solid modeling and engineering software to develop all of our manufactured products.
We house a quality control & inspection department utilizing the latest CMM technology, calibrated to 50 millionths.
2. MANUFACTURING PROCESS and DEDICATED FORGING TECHNOLOGY
Our forgings are designed specifically for our manufacturing process, greatly reducing the need for “second op” setup and machining operations.
Our proprietary Single Cell Manufacturing™ process reduces the transfer of parts from machine to machine to an absolute minimum. This not only makes the manufacturing process more efficient but also eliminates “tolerance stacking” making an incredibly accurate piston time after time.
3. WE NOT ONLY MAKE IT, WE TEST IT TOO
Probe houses a quality control & inspection department utilizing the latest CMM technology, master engine builders, and a dedicated balancing department.
Throughout the past 20 + years, we have and continue to test all of our manufactured performance components on-site.
