Select from the Crank Shaft types below to explore the Crankshafts Available from KP.
Forged 4340 Steel
KP produces Forged 4340 Steel Crankshafts in Three Series: Sport, Performance and Competition. Each crankshaft is produced from E4340 AQ forgings made in the USA and machined in Jackson, MI.

The Sport Series of crankshafts feature:
  • Straight through oil holes similar to OEM
  • Nitrided to a minimum depth of 0.012"
  • Lightening holes in all four rods to reduce rotational weight and reduce or eliminate the need for heavy metal to balance
  • Two step polishing process for the rod and main journal surfaces
  • Held to tighter than OEM specifications
  • Ideal for the racer that wants to upgrade from a casting

The Performance Series of crankshafts feature:
  • Oil holes that intersect shallow oil hole pockets in the main bearings to help maximize bearing surface on the mains and improve oil flow to the rods
  • Nitrided to a minimum depth of 0.012"
  • Lightening holes in all four rods to reduce rotational weight and reduce or eliminate the need for heavy metal to balance
  • Two step polishing process for the rod and main journal surfaces
  • CNC profiled for accuracy and consistency

The Competition Series of crankshafts feature:
  • Oil holes that intersect shallow oil hole pockets in the main bearings to help maximize bearing surface on the mains and improve oil flow to the rods
  • Induction Hardened to a minimum depth of 0.060”
  • Lightening holes in all four rods to reduce rotational weight and reduce or eliminate the need for heavy metal to balance
  • Two step polishing process for the rod and main journal surfaces
  • CNC profiled for accuracy and consistency
Forged Micro Alloy Steel
KP produces the Forged Micro Alloy Steel Modular Series of crankshafts from C38 modified Micro Alloy forgings made in the USA and machined in Jackson, MI.

The Forged Micro Alloy Steel Modular Series of crankshafts feature:
  • Oil holes that intersect shallow oil hole pockets in the main bearings to help maximize bearing surface on the mains and improve oil flow to the rods
  • Fillet rolled to increase strength & OD Induction Hardened to provide maximum wear resistance
  • Lightening holes in all four rods to reduce rotational weight and reduce or eliminate the need for heavy metal to balance
  • Two step polishing process for the rod and main journal surfaces
